Custom Library Circulation Desk & Interior Design

When the Pamlico County Public Library envisioned a welcoming new circulation desk, they quickly realized that the standard catalog options simply didn't capture what they had in mind. Rather than settling for a generic solution, they chose to keep the project local and partnered with Creative Kitchen & Bath to design something truly one-of-a-kind.

From concept to completion, we collaborated closely with the library director to create a custom circulation desk that reflects the coastal character of Pamlico County. Soft blue shiplap detailing paired with elegant quartz featuring subtle blue veining brings a fresh, timeless aesthetic that feels right at home in Eastern North Carolina.

Beyond its beauty, every detail was thoughtfully designed with functionality in mind. The workspace was carefully planned to support library staff with abundant storage, efficient workstations, and an integrated book return that allows returned books to drop directly into a concealed book cart—making daily operations smoother and more efficient.

This project is a perfect example of how custom design can transform a public space into something that is both beautiful for visitors and exceptionally practical for the people who use it every day.
